spx:
Don’t be alarmed, but I thought I should point out that today is JUNE 16th,
Meaning SPX 2012 is EXACTLY. THREE. MONTHS. FROM. TODAY!
You’re all coming right?

spx:
Registration for 2012 SPX table space will be opening in a few weeks (on or around the first of the year).
If you’ve exhibited recently, say 2010 or 2011 we’ll be emailing you to remind you to make your table reservation.
HOWEVER, if you haven’t exhibited before or just haven’t done so in a while you can throw your details into this form and we’ll be sure to let you know when registration opens.
This will be our biggest show floor ever but space goes super fast. Make sure you get your reminder!
Also, if you wouldn’t mind sharing this around, that would be grand - we want to get the word out!

Our book!! 150 pages of School of World strips, commentary and bonus material!
The first small order of these came in time for SPX and we’re really excited! We’re gonna be making a couple adjustments for the kickstarter backers’/future con copies that we’re ordering shortly (These books had to be ordered in time to arrive to us in time for SPX so we’ve realized by now a few minor details we’ll need to change.)
But for all the people coming to SPX: please come check it out!
OHBOY I AM SO EXCITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(via awkwanaut)

So I’m gonna try to be a better tumblr and kick the habit somewhat during schoolteimz. which might mean I’m gonna unfollow some blogs, but probably not you if you’re reading this and I follow you, hah.
Also I’ve developed the habit of liking things. I used to not like things. Then I decided to. Now I like lots of things and reblog less “OMG SO COOL” shit. Then I periodically go through my likes and add things to my queue. I can’t edit my queue post count atm, so right now it’s at 2x a day. This keeps my blog spiffy and “active” looking. Also, pretty good idea for doing those post-a-day things. Do them all, then time each post to a specific day, so you are slightly less committed to updating every day, but new content surfaces.
Next weekend is SPX. excitebike.
I will only have one new mini, maybe one micro fold-up comic, and 10 copies of my zine-sized “CREATED FOR YOU!!” comic, which is a bunch of blank pages that I’ll be drawing for the CURIOUS.
I’ll be with the SVA table. I don’t even know what one that is oh gosh. I like tabling though, so I’ll probably stick close by like a mama hawk. Anyway look up “School of Visual Arts”.
Oh and I’ll try to update my artblr [inkblood-.tumblr.com] more. Mostly stuff from last year etc. And Spooky Service.
Sorry I’ve been depressed and filled with aversion and ennui all summer. Summer should be EXCITING, but for a pre-senior, it’s filled with threats, man. All the threats.

Here’s a closer look at Matthew Thurber’s art for the SPX 2011 badges.
Maybe my favorite ever…
I can’t wait to wear Professor McComics and his Young Girl Ward.

“Our available space for SPX is always extremely limited (we only have two, two-bed rooms booked), so we did not send out a mass email. We sent our initial invitations last month to veteran SPXers and other selected volunteers, and the most recent email was a confirmation for those who responded with interest. Sadly, our roster is currently full, even after expanding it larger than last year’s.”
You.
mother.
fuckers.
Yeah, we’d love to take everyone; well ok, maybe not everyone, but we’d love to take OODLES OF YOU KIDS, but there’s only so many rooms we can book with our funds [which are not reemburshed by the school], and only so many passes we can comp via the dept [right now we’re trying to get as many more as we can], and only so many people we can organize to work the table. Right now our 2 rooms are at max capacity and we’re limited in regards to booking another; though as SPX says the hotel’s not sold-out yet! I looked and saw this post is a few days old, the other day we sent out a new e-mail investigating another room, too.
I’m totally willing to help anyone plan their own way down, letting people know when we’re leaving and what bus we’re taking so we can even travel together, or giving people contact info of their peers who want to go and organize their own room! SPX is my favourite con that we go to, I want everyone to go because it’s ~MAGIC~, we’re not trying to screw anyone out of going, just working within our limitations and trying to create a functional table. I know Eric, Hilary, and I are sorry that our space and funds are so limited.
Additionally and in no way related to any of this: the bureaucracy that is SVA’s student activities dept is a pain in the ass; I mean, the bureaucracy that is SVA is worst, but fuck.
