I love how this guy turned out - I love how the copper jewelry looks against it being totally black otherwise. I also love its little claws rather than hooves - I thought it would be neat to have one of these little monsters with a goat/deer like face without hooves, and I love the result! Tiny little deer forest monster!

Little Monster Dolls:

Each little monster has a cast resin face that is hand painted and sealed. Their claws, horns, and hooves are all hand sculpted in colored sculpey and given a protective seal. The bodies are hand sewn with button joints in the arms and legs for gentle posing. Some are able to stand on their own with some careful balancing. Ears and tails are either felt or fleece. Some tails have pipe cleaners in them for gentle posing. Wings are made with quilting fabric, stem wire, and fabric modge podge. Moth wings are hand drawn and colored on paper, then water sealed. Moth antenna are craft feathers. Each monster is given jewelry to accent its personality. Each doll is between 7 and 9 inches when standing.

FIRST of omg -30- little dolls that I’m putting together for an art show next week. I have a few done, a GREAT many ALMOST done ;p I will be uploading them as I get good pictures of them.

I will make a post about the art show information when I can - its in Seattle, WA and opens next friday (I will be at the opening!) with a bunch of other artists who did 30 small artworks in a month! This show is ALWAYS a cool one, but I am particularly proud of myself this time around.

ANYHOW. This was the first one to be completely finished. Face is cast in resin and hand painted, horns and claws are hand sculpted sculpey, body is hand sewn and has button jointing in the limbs and wire in his little tail. The wings are quilting fabric, fabric modge podge, and wire.

Because I know this will probably come up - the dolls will be for sale AT the art show itself first. The show will last for a month, and then whatever dolls have not sold will be posted on ETSY for sale. :3

***EDIT - also I plan on taking a couple photos of these guys to show their general size. They aren’t TINY but they can sit in your hand :3

gosh this one too!!

ANOTHER of the 30 dolls. Going to copy and paste the info from the first one. But specifically to this one - he reminds me of mountain goats, and he really felt it was of great importance to show the camera how cute his little hooves are.
